NY Update & a prayer request
David Weber
26th Sept 2007
This is just a short note to let you know that we're back from NY where we were led into many divine appointments by the Father. I can't share much about the trip here and now, but I would like to briefly share this -- a bit of a praise report and a request for more prayer -- something which has to do with a (former!) homeless man named "Jose" who is someone that I asked you to pray for many months ago.
After 5 or 6 long months and many trips to NYC, I am pleased to report that "Jose" is now sober and even seemingly free now from his alcohol addiction - having made it through the detox program that we helped get him into a few months ago. I'm also very happy to report here that Jose (as of this passed weekend) is not homeless anymore either! Oh, Hallelujah!
On this last trip we were able to get Jose into the Bowery Mission Discipleship Program where Jose will now live and work, receive free career training, and also study the scriptures on a daily basis! I've known in my spirit since I first met Jose (in a subway station at 103rd and Broadway) that the Father is preparing him for some very important Kingdom business (Jose's change is already causing quite a stir in the NY street community where he has spent much time).
Please pray for this brother now as he makes the transition from homelessness and severe alcoholism to the Bowery Program and a new life in Christ, will you? For those of you who have prayed for this brother -- THANK YOU!
This has surely been a battle for Jose, but (as always), the victory is ours in Christ. Praise the Lord for He is Good, and His mercy endures FOREVER!
